the mudpond

It's good to let things breathe in your imagination because often your initial response to it is not the best thought-through response. I savour little glimpses of life. Mine and those of people who turn me sideways and around. Friend or stranger. Even a child. (the world looks different from down there) Sometimes an author, photographer, artist. I let things saturate and incubate here. Hopefully, deeper meanings can percolate up and flower.

the beginning

a whisper:

SO YOU want to blog? Good on you.

Goethe had it nailed when he said:

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it"

THE BEGINNING is always a tiny revelation - a new way of seeing things.

Then, an impulse to capture with words.

Words giving birth to words, thoughts arousing deeper thoughts.

I like things to percolate - coffee-like, at the back of my mind, until it is ready to be poured out onto the page.

Some ideas arrive suddenly, sometimes out of the blue.

Others may take weeks, months, even years to percolate its way up to the consciousness.

When 'it' whispers, I am ready to give it 'voice'.
